We are excited to collaborate with Haringey Fixers Social Cinema to bring you two films. The first is Singin in the Rain.

SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN, 1952, GENE KELLY, STANLEY DONEN

The most beautiful, technicolour extravaganza depicting the business of making movies ever made. Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O’ Connor star as performers caught up in the transition from silent films to the era of talkies.
Debbie Reynolds was a friend to the film society movement, having presented the winners with their certificates at the Film Society of the Year Awards at the BFI Southbank in the late 1980s. The Cinema For All team is lucky enough to have a framed photograph of that moment, which is hanging in our office, as well a beautiful quad poster of Singin’ in the Rain from its 2000 re- release.

The film appeared at number 10 in the 2022 Sight and Sound poll on the greatest films ever made – who knows where it will appear on the 100 Years, 100 Films poll chosen by community cinemas? We will find out at the Community Cinema Gala on 20th September!
