Meet the artist Caroline Rault

Caroline’s paintings are of people and things that she likes. She uses the brightest pallet: - opera pink, turquoise and yellow to convey the joy and get from heroes and heroins, birds, foxes, hybrid figures and mermaids. Caroline has travelled widely so you will see the colours of the tropics in her work. She was born in Mauritius where purple mountains pierce the sky, turquoise lagoons surround the shore, yellow and scarlet birds flit through the air. Mauritius is a place where people from all over the world have settled - Africa, India, Europe, China and Madagascar. It is an island of hybridity and these peoples have mixed to create a rainbow nation. That is why she loves Tottenham. Her paintings reflect both sides of her - the Mauritian and the Tottenham.
