We are excited to present our summer Folk Night. Our regular Irish Folk players will be joined by Rumpled Muslin.
Firmly established as individual singers on the London folk scene, between them Rumpled Muslin have decades of singing experience including choirs and other musical collaborations.
Their musical backgrounds vary as much as their individual voices, covering Scottish folk (Amanda, left), Somerset Trad (Alison, right) and musical theatre, cabaret and jazz as well as folk (Wendy, middle).
They sang solo in online lockdown sessions during Covid – and when they met up afterwards, discovered they were a band! “We were just going to have a sing, and then we realised we fit together – which was a surprise, because we have very different styles and voices.”
They have been singing together as a trio in folk clubs around the country ever since, often a cappella but with some songs accompanied on the harmonium, guitar or whistle.
